What in the world are these fish doing?
Hiya,
I've bought two fish and a 54 litre tank, I think that's about 14 gallons. One is a fancy tail gold fish (I've read they need at the very minimum 10 gal per fish, but opinions seem to vary) and a blind cave fish. They got along for several days and now this cute little gold fish has turned into Satan's little helper and seems to be taunting the other fish. No damage done yet, but a lot of chasing and fin nipping. Of course the store said they should get along, and I can't find info about a "blind cave fish" getting along with other fish... but I think he's in the Tetra group? I have no idea. I want both to live happy and heathy so I would like to know if I should get another tank and separate. Also anyone out there that has or is knowledgeable about the blind cave fish... extra info appreciated.
Tank cycled 3 weeks without fish and one week fish in. Water perfect... doing 20 - 30% changes every 3 days.
Thanks for any info anyone can give.
Blind cave fish are indeed tetras and are often the target of harassment from other fish. To be honest the only real choices are return one of them or get another tank and separate them. Assuming you separate them it would be a good idea to add a few more blind cave fish in the tank with the one you have, they do better in groups. Here's a bit more information about them:

Hope that helps and feel free to email me if you have additional questions.
