Why do some traditional martial artists dislike MMA, boxing etc so much?
What do traditional martial artists have against mma, boxing and the like? Do they also dislike things like Muay Thai and kickboxing?
It is hard to answer such a broad question like this. I would speculate that the traditionalists are either threatened by MMA, believe it dilutes their art, or perhaps they don't like its lack of history. Many traditional martial arts have been perfected over thousands of years. True MMA hasn't been around that long. A lot of people refer to UFC 1 as the birth of MMA in America. Although various forms of the arts were represented, none of them were truly "mixed" in their presentations. It was more form A versus form B. As I stated, this is just speculation, so who really knows.
